Ortronics has formalized a joint technology initiative with Woodhead Connectivity to extend the benefits of Ethernet connectivity. The new end-to-end Category 5e Structured Cabling Solution features a completely sealed (IEC IP67) RJ-45 connection. Typical commercial systems are not suitable for harsh environments, but this solution overcomes this hurdle by offering a structured cabling system that prevents ingress from dirt, oil and water, and protects against the effects of vibration, EMI, chemical corrosion and accidental disconnection. This Ethernet solution supports audio, video, telco, data, lighting control and additional multimedia applications, and fits well in all sorts of indoor and outdoor environments.
