Focus on Copiers...Xerox

Xerox's Document Centre 480 is the final device in the 400 series of printer-copiers, and includes software that enhances individual and enterprise document management and knowledge sharing. The unit prints and copies at 75 ppm, and offers scanning at 65 ppm. An Intel Celeron 366 MHz microprocessor boosts document processing speed.

Model 480 prints, copies, faxes and scans. It can scan hard copy documents directly to e-mail without a PC, directly to a document repository such as Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange, or directly into an HTML format for immediate Web posting. The DC 480 can be easily managed on a network with services such as Novell Network Enterprise Print Services, Computer Associates UniCenter, and IBM Tivoli.

Xerox's Office Software Suite complements the unit by helping customers to better manage the flow of documents. For example, the DocuShare 2.2 Web-based document repository can send an e-mail to every user when new data is added, and PrintXchange 3.0 software can alert system administrators by e-mail or pager when a copier or network needs attention. Other products in Xerox's Office Software Suite are FlowPort and CentreWare, which can work independently or together to help users capture, distribute and manage information.
