Education Telecom, Polycom Launch Global Education Network

Education Telecom, a company dedicated to helping children learn about other cultures and build bridges of understanding throughout the world, and Polycom Inc., a provider of interactive voice, video, data and Web communications, have partnered to launch a free education network for K-12 schools worldwide. The first leg of the network will be installed in the next few months to connect schools in California, New York City and China. The network will feature Polycom’s ViewStation interactive video communications systems with specialty equipment, such as handheld cameras and video recorders.

To help fund the new network, Education Telecom will launch a global marketing campaign, "Shades of Grey," in March at the San Diego Convention Center. The event will feature celebrities and entertainers, and all funds raised will advance communications systems and services, so students worldwide can learn about each other in real time through the latest in video and information technology.
