CIC Brings Shakespeare to Life With Broadband

Shakespeare is coming to life on the Web through Cable in the Classroom's"Shakespeare: Subject to Change" (www.ciconline.org/bdp1), a multimedia onlineexploration of variations in Shakespeare. This 15-minute slice of learning is the first in a series being developed by CIC - one of its many new research initiatives showcasing the unique teaching and learning potential of interactive technology.

"Shakespeare: Subject to Change" allows learners to benefit from content in an open, interactive environment using text, images, audio, full-motion video and animations. The site features multisensory experiences where users can read, hear, interact and create their own variations of Shakespeare classics. Video clips of different versions of the "To be or not to be" soliloquy from Hamlet, side-by-side comparisons of rarely seen early printed versions of Shakespeare, and a 17th century engraving of a print house with clickable elements are just some of the things to be found on the site.
