Fujitsu Introduces New Color, Production-Level Scanner

Fujitsu Computer Products of America Inc. has introduced the Fujitsu fi-4860C2 VRS scanner into its award-winning line of document-management scanners. The production-level fi-4860C2 VRS now comes bundled with Kofax’s newest version of VirtualReScan (VRS) automated document image-enhancement software (VRS 4.1 Professional), Adrenaline 650i SCSI interface boards, and a SCSI cable for complete out-of-the-box connectivity. The addition of these new VRS capabilities provides users with more robust image-enhancement features that further reduce the need for manual intervention in the scanning process. These functions also give users the ability to tap into the widely underutilized color capabilities of nearly all scanners by offering intelligent color detection and color saturation. Pearson Launches New Version of WriteToLearn

Pearson Knowledge Technologies has recently launched an updated version of WriteToLearn, a web-based learning tool that helps students develop writing and reading comprehension skills. WriteToLearn Version 2.0 now contains more than 100 reading passages and 100 essay topics, as well as enhanced administrative tools.
