DeepNines, SurfControl Partner for K-12 Internet Security

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

4/5/2007—DeepNines Technologies and SurfControl have partnered to provide an integrated, CIPA-compliant security solution for K-12 schools. The system is designed to go two steps beyond traditional filtering to help prevent students from visiting sites deemed inappropriate by school and district administrators.

Based on DeepNines' Security Edge Platform and SurfControl's URL filtering technologies, the new system, dubbed "Security Edge Platform iTrust, is an "intelligent" filter designed to block both known and unknown content that may be inappropriate for access by students from within schools.

DeepNines' security appliance is designed to block access to proxies and to other types of online content, such as peer to peer networking and online chat. It inspects all network traffic and performs "deep" packet analysis to block unwanted content. SurfControl's technologies use URL filtering and the company's "Internet Threat Database" to block unwanted content.
