##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Educational software and hardware provider Promethean has launched a new professional development program for educators. The online learning system, Promethean Learning, which debuted at the 2007 NECC show in Atlanta this week, is designed to help teachers improve their skills with interactive whiteboards.

Promethean Learning is a part of Promethean Planet, an online community for K-12 educators and administrators, as well as parents, designed to help improve experiences with interactive technologies. According to Promethean, with the new service, "Educators equipped with Activclassroom technology will now be able to gain valuable accreditation at their own pace and improve their skills, knowledge, and understanding of best practices."

Promethean Learning includes three training levels:

  1. Foundation Skills and Advanced Skills Certificate;
  2. Curriculum Developer Certificate (focused on classroom practice); and
  3. Training & Resource Developer Certificate (focused on Activclassroom).

Training levels 2 and 3 are moderated by instructors and run six weeks. Level 1 training does not have time constraints.
