Chicago Public Schools Taking Grades Online

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Beginning this summer, Chicago Public Schools will implement a Web-based gradebook system, piloting GradeSpeed.NET from Campusware at select campuses.

GradeSpeed.NET is a customizable online tool that provides grade, assignment, and attendance tracking, as well as reporting capabilities and tools for students and parents to follow along.

"The Campusware gradebook solution presents a great opportunity for us to significantly improve the user experience for our teachers," said Chicago Public Schools CIO Robert Runcie, in a prepared statement. "In addition, it gets us to the next level where we will soon have a compelling proposition for engaging our parents."

Following the initial pilot, the district expects to deploy GradeSpeed.NET across all of its campuses. According to Campusware, "No school district as large as CPS has ever implemented an enterprise-wide electronic gradebook solution."

Chicago Public Schools, the third-largest district in the United States, serves more than 400,000 students in more than 600 schools. Further information about GradeSpeed.NET can be found here.
