Broward County Schools Automates Substitute Teacher Tracking

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Kronos has recently deployed its Workforce Central suite for Broward County Public Schools in Florida. The implementation is aimed at automating time and attendance tracking of substitute teachers working in the district.

Prior to using Kronos, the 212-school district manually tracked its substitute records, collecting the necessary data from each site and then forwarding it to the district offices for entry into their payroll system.

Use of the Workforce Central platform is intended to centralize the data collection process in an effort to increase both accuracy, and efficiency, as well as reduce a range of associated costs.

"Kronos was selected because of its functionality and ability to streamline a manual process," said Kenneth Zacharias, an IT director at the Broward County Public School system, in a prepared statement. "With Kronos, we significantly reduced overpayments to substitute teachers, decreased the amount of time administrative staff members spend on workflow processes, and eliminated paper costs."

According to the announcement, other districts deploying Kronos solutions include Chicago Public Schools, Fort Worth Independent School District, and Newark Public Schools.
