In "A Matter of Principals", we report on professional development programs that train school principals in the use of technologies. Here we reveal how principals say they use those technologies in performing their jobs.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Roughly nine out of 10 surveyed principals e-mail, IM, or text message for work purposes.
  • Two-thirds of respondents use technology to create multimedia presentations.
  • Only 2 percent of respondents use Twitter or microblogging to collaborate with peers.
