Vantage Learning Targets Athletic Directors with DigitalSports Acquisition

Software-as-a-service provider Vantage Learning has announced its acquisition of DigitalSports, a provider of information about local high school sports throughout the United States and Canada, as well as Web-based team and league management software LeagueMinder.

Vantage, which provides assessment and instruction software on a subscription basis to primary, secondary, and higher education institutions, said it hopes to expand the reach of DigitalSports' software and services, including scores, player and team statistics, and video footage, to the more than 3,000 U.S. schools it currently serves.

Bob Patrylak, president of Vantage, said that his company can provide substantial value to DigitalSports' existing subscribers and expand both its own market and that of its new subsidiary. "We have now added athletic directors using DigitalSports, DigitalSports.com, and LeagueMinder to our base of users," Patrylak noted. "Our newest customers should feel confident that we will be there for them in the future, and bring transformative technologies and solutions to their schools and districts."
