St. Louis PS Deploys Online Systems for Community Education

St. Louis Public Schools in Missouri is rolling out new software tools to help bolster its community education program. The district is adding a registration and student assessment system to help track and share data and outcomes.

For the deployment, the district is using TraxSolutions from nFocus Software. TraxSolutions provides tools for online registration, scanner-based attendance tracking, and program data management. It also includes tools to help create and share reports.

"As St. Louis Public Schools' Community Education Full Service Schools add health, mental health, employment, and other services to its existing community education programs, nFocus Software provides a critical means to achieving success. With the implementation of this software, online registration, ID card attendance, robust reporting, and data sharing between organizations can finally become a reality," said Peg Pedersen, community education supervisor for SLPS, in a prepared statement. "Preparing young people to be 'Ready by 21,' addressing the challenges faced by adults and families, and providing a nurturing environment in which all have the opportunity for success, require that the whole community work together. TraxSolutions provides a powerful tool that keeps the focus on success for all."

St. Louis Public Schools serves approximately 40,000 students in 93 schools, including 56 elementary schools, 22 middle schools, and 10 high schools, as well as five alternative and special education centers. It employs more than 4,300 staff and has an annual budget of about $342 million.
