Ed Tech Provider Releases Math Intervention Program

Renaissance Learning has released a new intervention program for grades 3 through 12. Accelerated Math for Intervention (AMI) is a research-based math intervention aimed at bridging skills gaps for students struggling in mathematics through practice, targeted intervention, and diagnostic testing.

AMI is a tier 2 and tier 3 response to intervention program for that aligns with the company's other math software and includes a number of tools specifically geared to helping administer comprehensive response to intervention strategy, including:

  • Screening report to help identify students in need of intervention;
  • Goal-setting wizard;
  • Flash cards and worksheets;
  • Math glossary;
  • Diagnostic and progress monitoring reports;
  • Renaissance Home Connect for study outside the classroom and parental involvement; and
  • Teacher guides.

The program also integrates professional development for educators who work with struggling students. Renaissance coaches provide the initial training and implementation of the program, and they are available for a year following startup for any necessary consultations on software use, data interpretation, and analysis of the program's practical effectiveness.
