e2020 Launches Library of Common Core Lessons

Education2020, a courseware company that provides online instruction for students in grades 6 through 12, has added eLibrary, which provides a keyword search tutorial system that gives students access to 4,600 lessons that fit Common Core education standards.

eLibrary is available as a stand-alone service or as an add-on to the company's products, Virtual Classroom and Virtual Tutor. Students log in and use the keyword search tool to find available lessons. Lesson descriptions include grade level, lesson objectives, and lesson elements available. Students select which part of the lesson they wish to view or complete.

CEO Gene Storz believes the new feature set will help students become more proactive in their learning by helping them to locate additional lessons on the content they're studying. "Since no two students learn at the same pace, this new service will be extremely helpful to students of all levels, increasing their ability to find the subject matter they're seeking faster and more accurately," he said in a statement.

The company said it has implementations of its instruction in 39 states, covering 800 school districts and 2,500 schools.

The Common Core State Standards Initiative is a state-led effort to provide assessment standards for defining what students should learn and understand during their K-12 education.
