MySciLearn Offers Anywhere, Anytime Access to Fast ForWord

Scientific Learning has launched MySciLearn, an online platform for accessing Scientific Learning products through a single interface.

Currently, the platform is available for use with the company's Fast ForWord series, which includes Fast ForWord Language, Fast ForWord Reading, and Fast ForWord Literacy, and will be available for use with Reading Assistant beginning this spring.

Fast ForWord is "designed to accelerate learning by developing the student brain to process more efficiently" according to information released by the company. The programs feature individualized exercises in memory, attention, processing, and sequencing.

Reading Assistant is designed to give students real-time feedback on their oral reading skills with speech-recognition software. The program offers visual cues when students begin to falter, then provides the correct pronunciation if the problem persists.

Features of the new platform include:

  • Performance reports at the district, school, group, and individual level;
  • Enhanced report designs;
  • An auto-assign tool designed to place each student in the appropriate Fast ForWord level;
  • Access to SciLearnU, a self-paced professional development program with a learning community and other instructional resources; and
  • A scalable model designed to accommodate individual learners, entire districts, after school programs, or at-home use.
