Califone Releases Mobile-Device Friendly Stereo Jackbox

Califone International now offers its JB310, a 10-position stereo jackbox capable of distributing audio to headphones through 3.5mm plugs, which can help students who share mobile devices or computers in class.

The jackbox can be used with tablets, computers, or even smartphones. It can connect to various devices using either 1/4" or 3.5 mm plugs.

Encased in plastic, the device provides each user with a port for 10 headphones as well as an individual volume control. Users can also plug in an additional jackbox through an additional built-in 3.5mm jack.

The JB310 Jackbox comes with a one-year warranty, including educational use.

On the Califone blog, the company notes a recent self-conducted study that found a majority of educators who responded (76.5 percent) indicated that they separate students into groups of four or more for computer use.

"Digital activities on tablets are a great way to keep students engaged in learning, but making sure all students are equally enriched can be challenging when faced with limited resources and time," said Tim Ridgway, the company's vice president of marketing in a statement.
