SIIA Opens 2014 Vision K-20 Survey
The Software & Information Industry Association has opened its seventh-annual Vision K-20 Survey, part of the SIIA's Vision K-20 initiative that focuses on developing a technology-based educational framework for K-12 schools, colleges and universities.
The survey was launched in conjunction with the FETC 2014 conference taking place this week in Orlando, FL.
The Vision K-20 survey consists of questions related to 21st century learning, differentiated instruction, mobile/online access, assessment tools, enterprise support, and demographics. It's meant to be used as a benchmarking tool for individual institutions while also compiling aggregate data for a national report to be released at a later date.
"We've developed a vision for K-20 education to ensure all students have access to a learning environment that prepares them to compete globally and lead the world in innovation," said Karen Billings, vice president of the SIIA Education Division. "This year, in addition to reporting progress over the last seven years, for the first time we will ask educators to identify how they are using mobile technology in the classroom."
