Common Core App Links Assessment and Free Learning Resources

Capitalizing on the growing number of schools implementing Common Core, a new assessment and remediation app for math and language has launched, which pairs students with learning materials from OpenEd in their problem areas.

common core quest appA free app from OpenEd, Common Core Quest guides students through quizzes, modeled on Smarter Balanced and PARCC-style questions, designed to test their mastery of the standards. As students progress, the app awards badges for completed strands and identifies any learning gaps and provides relevant resources from the company’s library of educational materials.

Currently, the app provides full coverage to all math and language arts standards in grade six and above, and partial coverage for elementary grades.

OpenEd features more than a million videos, games, and other resources aligned to the Common Core. Most of the content is free, but the company offers a subscription plan to allow schools to take advantage of paid content and a more robust set of analytics.

The app is available for both iOS and Android.
