Dell Unveils New Laptops for Education

Dell Chromebook 11Dell has expanded its line of laptops for education with the addition of the Dell Chromebook 11, Latitude 11 Education Series laptop, as well as the new Venue 10 and Venue 10 Pro tablets and Dell Interactive Projector S510.

The Chromebook 11, Latitude 11 Education Series, Venue 10 and Venue 10 Pro have rubberized shock-absorbing trim designed to help protect them from bumps and drops. The Chromebook 11 and Latitude 11 Education Series have undergone "MIL-STD 810G testing for pressure, temperature, shock and vibration, and both have a 180 degree LCD hinge design that reduces stress on the hinge," according to information from the company.

Key features of the Dell Chromebook 11 include:

  • Anti-glare high definition (HD) display with optional touchscreen;
  • Liquid-resistant keyboard and touchpad;
  • Front facing integrated HD video webcam;
  • Wireless 2x2 LAN 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n;
  • Bluetooth 4.0; and
  • Up to 10 hours of battery life based on testing in Dell Labs.

Key features of the Dell Latitude 11 Education Series laptop include:

  • 11.6-inch touch or non-touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT;
  • Full-size keyboard;
  • Fully sealed keyboard and touchpad; and
  • Rubberized LCD and base trim.

The Dell Venue 10 tablet runs the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) operating system, and the Venue 10 Pro runs Windows 8.1. They feature a 10.1-inch HD or full HD display and optional keyboard. The Venue 10 is certified with Google Play for Education and features near field communication (NFC).

The Dell Interactive Projector S510 features built-in  Wi-Fi, Miracast for wireless video streaming and Intel WiDi technology designed to simplify wireless content sharing.

The Chromebook 11 is available on February 12, 2015 starting at $249.99. The non-touch display version of the Latitude 11 Education Series will be available March 3, 2015 starting at $299, and the touch display version will be available in late June 2015. The Venue 10 Pro will be available on March 3, 2015 starting at $329.99 and the Venue 10 will be available in spring 2015. The Interactive Projector S510 is available now starting at $1,799.99.
