Tales2Go Audio Book Service Adds Caching and Lexile Search Features

Tales2Go has added caching and Lexile search to its apps. Users can now listen to complete audio book titles without a continuous Internet connection, and educators and parents can search by Lexile measure.

Tales2Go, which calls itself “a Netflix for children’s audio books,” supports the development of literacy skills during a student’s early childhood and elementary school years. The Tales2Go service adds a listening component to classroom reading instruction and is used in school districts including Los Angeles Unified School District (CA), Broward County Schools (FL) and Heartland Area Education Agency (IA).

Tales2Go co-founder and CEO William Weil commented, “Many low-income families lack reliable internet service at home. With our new caching feature, a student can begin listening to a book on a school-owned device at school and then take it home and continue listening without an Internet connection. In addition, families with connected mobile devices can more reliably travel with Tales2Go on road trips and airplanes without service interruption.”
