Splashtop Adds Airplay Receiver for Mirroring iOS Devices
Splashtop has launched
Mirroring360 Airplay Receiver to
allow users to mirror media from iOS devices to any other device.
"Once installed, Mirroring360 Receiver turns users' Windows or Mac into an AirPlay receiver," according to a news release. "Users can then
discover and select the device from the AirPlay menu on iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Mac to start streaming and mirroring."
The company has also updated Mirroring Assist to make it easier
to deploy and manage Mirroring360 in larger schools. Mirroring Assist uses
discovery based on QR codes to bypass Bonjour to connect iOS devices to other devices, eliminating the need to reconfigure networks for Bonjour
and eliminating needless traffic.
"Mirroring360 solves many of our problems of connecting an iPad on our school network," said Rick Meyer, technology facilitator and
instructor at Sidney Public Schools, in a prepared
statement. "We have worked for a very long time trying to get AirPlay to work with no success. Finally there is something that is easy to use
and isn't a burden on our IT staff."
