New InFocus JTouch Whiteboard Offers Simple Touch

InFocus has introduced a new member of its JTouch interactive touchscreen display family. The 65-inch JTouch Whiteboard (INF6501w) is intended for collaborative environments where users simply want to display the screens of PCs, Macs or Chromebooks via HDMI.

The unit includes:

  • 1,080 pixel resolution;
  • A touchscreen display that allows up to six people to work on the surface at the same time;
  • Two 20-watt speakers;
  • A front-facing four-port USB hub;
  • Wireless content sharing and Web browsing with an optional $399 USB adapter; and
  • A one-year warranty.

The product weighs 120 pounds.

The interactive whiteboard has almost identical specifications to the JTouch Whiteboard with LightCast (INF6501c), released earlier this year. That model, however, includes a Web browser and built-in wireless device connectivity. The price is also higher. Whereas the c model is $3,299, the newer w model is $2899. Within K-12 schools, the prices are $2,399 and $1,999, respectively.

"We created the JTouch Whiteboard with simplicity and ease-of-use in mind," said Marketing Manager, Robert Detwiler in a press release. "If you want device casting, built-in browsers, on-board PCs and video conferencing, you can find them in our Mondopad, BigTouch and JTouch with LightCast. But if you only need to display and control your notebook or jot down some digital notes for everyone to see on a large, [high-definition] screen, you need the JTouch Whiteboard."
