Missouri District-Led Program Expands Tuition-Free Summer School Courses

A program created by Grandview R-2 School District in Hillsboro, MO called the Missouri Online Summer Institute (MOSI) will be offering more than 100 tuition-free summer school courses for students in grades 7-12 this summer.

MOSI offers a range of courses from Fuel Education’s online curriculum and all online courses are lead by state-certified teachers. There are core and elective courses in STEM, IT, business, healthcare and more, as well as newly added Advanced Placement and career readiness (CTE) courses, according to the program site. Students enrolled in the program will have access to a number of online tools in the virtual classroom, where they will be able to communicate with course instructors and peers. To ensure student success, MOSI holds an orientation for all students and parents and has dedicated support staff for the program.

In addition, students who enroll in the program gain free access to an interactive resource portal called Career Cruising, which “helps students identify career strengths and passions."

Online courses became available to students May 22 and MOSI is accepting applications for enrollment through July 3. Find out more on the program site.
