Legends of Learning Games Meet Georgia and Texas Science Standards

Legends of Learning (LoL), a research-based gaming platform, now meets science standards for Texas and Georgia middle school students.

The LoL platform offers thousands of games and assessment items for earth and space, life and physical science classes (currently for middle schoolers only, but with plans to expand its research-based content to other grades). Now, games are aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) for middle school, and can be accessed upon request by contacting the company.

Already, Cobb County School District, the second largest public school system in Georgia, is using LoL's games across middle school science classes.

“Cobb Schools are excited to be using the engaging Legends of Learning resources to teach our Georgia science standards,” said Dr. Sally Creel, STEM and innovation supervisor for CCSD, in a prepared statement. “Teachers are working hard to maximize every minute in the classroom. We don’t have time to waste on resources that do not align to our standards.”

The curriculum-based science games now meet standards in 21 states, according to information from the company. Next, LoL has its sights set on Virginia, working to integrate its games to Virginia Standards of Learning.
