Online News Museum Analyzes Coverage of Historic Events

For historical lessons that will intrigue students and generate classroom discussion, visit the Newseum's interactive online news museum (www.newseum.org). While the physical Newseum building remains closed until 2006 for relocation and renovation, some of the museum's exhibits are available for online viewing. The site features numerous interactive exhibits that combine video, images and voice to analyze the news media's coverage - or lack of coverage - of history's most significant events. The interactive exhibits explore the news media's involvement in such historic events as the Holocaust, World War II, the moon race and Kennedy's assassination. There are also a number of photography exhibits featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning historical photographs and political cartoon renderings of history.
