Kajeet 4G Hotspots for Education Title I Eligible
Kajeet reported that its 4G access points, designed to provide underprivileged students with access to the Internet at home, are now available for Title I funding. The company also released a Title I funding resource in conjunction with the Consortium for School Networking and the National Title I Association.
Kajeet is a wireless service provider focused exclusively on kids and education. The SmartSpot is a mobile hotspot designed specifically for education that provides around-the-clock broadband access to students. It's coupled with Sentinel, a tool that allows schools to manage the SmartSpot devices and, if desired, filter content and limit sites that students can access.
"As more schools implement digital and Web-based learning and assessment programs, requiring students to work on assignments outside of the classroom, the poorest students are struggling to keep up with their connected peers," said Kajeet Founder and CEO Daniel Neal n a prepared statement. "Every time a teacher asks a child to go online at home, she or he is actively, if inadvertently, disadvantaging those who can't go to Web sites at night. This is an enormous problem and one Kajeet solves."
