MyON Adds Cricket Media to Personal Literacy Platform
Cricket Media has partnered with
myON to make its children's books and magazines available through myON's personal literacy environment. The move boosts myON's library to
more than 8,000 titles from almost 70 publishers.
MyON's literacy platform is available to more than 5.5 million students globally via PC or mobile device and offers both online and offline
reading. According to information released by the company, "myON creates a collaborative reading environment where students, educators and
parents work together to support student reading performance by leveraging reading supports — embedded dictionary, naturally recorded audio,
highlighting, digital literacy tools and metrics. Students also have access to a safe social network where they can read, rate, review and
recommend books to classmates."
The addition of Cricket media expands the platform's collection of short-form passages, as well as literary and informational texts.
"We are excited to know that selections from our rich digital library are now available to the millions of kids reading on myON," said Katya
Andresen, CEO at Cricket Media, in a prepared statement. "Our award winning literary and informational texts are fantastic sources of authentic
content for educators seeking enlightening and entertaining passages that meet state and national standards as well as increase reading
comprehension."
