Badia Releases BigPicture 3.0

10.31.2006—Following a week of public beta testing, Badia Software, based in Toronto, Canada, has released the full version of BigPicture 3.0, a tool for working with graphics in QuarkXPress. The new version, which became available Today, is the first Universal Binary release of BigPicture. It also adds native support for QuarkXPress 7.

BigPicture is designed to provide detailed information on images used in a QuarkXPress document and to enable users to modify some image properties on the fly without leaving QuarkXPress. The latest release adds several new tools and workflow improvements. A menu bar has been added to the top of the interface, with options for selections, links, opening images with specified applications and other functions. It also adds custom information columns, options for actions taken on double-clicking an image, a customizable keyboard shortcut and the ability to rename images without leaving the application.

The range of information about images has also been expanded. It includes file size, angle, scale, dimensions (in various units), format, modified date, color model, resolution, effective resolution, document creator, print status, color profile, status, fonts and colors used, page number and file path. It also includes metadata from the image and Spotlight comments.

BigPicture 3.0 is available now for Mac OS X for $119.95.
