Portsmouth To Deploy Web-Based SIS

Portsmouth Public Schools in New Hampshire is deploying a new, district-wide student information system to replace its 10-year-old system in an effort to consolidate disparate databases and improve efficiency for state reporting purposes. The district will be using Infinite Campus District Edition.
"Our student information system is 10 years old and has multiple databases that are difficult to keep up to date for effective state reporting," said Susan Birrell, IT director for PPS. "We need a centralized data management system that uses a single source data-entry method to track student assessments, improve our state reporting process, and increase administrator and teacher productivity."
Infinite Campus District Edition is a Web-based SIS that provides real-time access to student data for teachers, administrators, parents, and students. It includes various reporting tools, integrated communications (including parent portals and notifications), lesson planning, grade books, and repositories for various kinds of administrative data about students (health, attendance, etc.).
Unicom Technology Group will work with the district through the deployment, which is expected to be completed by February.
Portsmouth Public Schools serves about 2,700 students in three elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and one alternative school.
