NEW RELEASES - Epson Digital Camera

The two-megapixel USB zoom PhotoPC 850Z digital camera from Epson includes a 3x optical zoom, a hot sh'e for external flash units and manual controls, and image enhancement technology rendering photos in 1984 x 1488 pixel resolution. At this resolution, even images printed at 11” x 14” retain clarity and sharpness. The PhotoPC 850Z’s image enhancement technology occurs inside the camera, before JPEG compression, to ensure that all the original pixel information collected will be utilized to enhance the image.

A built-in flash supports red eye reduction and slow synchronized flash, and a built-in microphone and speaker allow users to record messages up to ten seconds and play them back on the camera or on a computer. The camera will store up to 120 standard resolution images, and an optional attachment allows for additional image memory.

Also included with the camera are four rechargeable AA NiMH batteries and a fast charger that will recharge the batteries within three hours. To save battery life when using the camera outdoors, the user can take advantage of the two inch LCD monitor with Solar Assist panel that lights the LCD in direct sunlight.

With the PhotoPC 850Z’s USB compatibility, customers can download a two-megapixel image in about three seconds to iMac, Power Macintosh G3 and Windows 98 computers. A serial cable is included to download images to Windows and PowerPC computers, and a Direct Print cable and Direct Print software are included with the camera.

The PhotoPC 850Z offers many advanced features, such as manual exposure, shutter priority and aperture priority. The camera has three different modes of digital photography: manual, programmed and fully automatic. There is also a Quick Shot mode that enables the photographer to snap a picture approximately every second to ensure that a perfect shot won’t be missed.

The PhotoPC 850Z’s software bundle includes everything needed for retrieving, organizing, enhancing, and printing images. Epson’s Image Authentication System provides consumers with image validation technology, using a digital fingerprint to verify the integrity of each picture.
