AVer Ships $200 Document Camera

AVer Information has started shipping a new $200 portable document camera that offers 1.3 megapixel image capture and 720p HD output at 30 frames per second.

The AVerVision U10 is a gooseneck-style, USB-powered document camera with an 11" x 14" shooting area, 1,296 x 1,032 capture resolution (1.34 megapixels), and 1,280 x 720 output resolution (720p) with support for 30 FPS motion. The device includes dual USB inputs (for mice and USB pens) and a single USB output for connecting to a computer.

Other features include:

  • Integrated LED lamp;
  • Built-in mic;
  • Camera Capture button;
  • Autofocus with focus adjustment;
  • 8x digitalzoom;
  • Folding gooseneck; and
  • Power port for connecting to computers whose USB ports do not supply power (or enough power).

The unit works with AVer Information's free A+ Interactive software, which allows users to capture still images and video with audio, plan and create lessons, and annotate over document camera images.

The AVerVision U10 is available now for $199.99 with a two-year parts and labor warranty. AVer also provides free tech support, free online training, and free onsite training. Additional details can be found on AVer Information's site.
