Tyler Technologies Adds Computer Software Associates to Portfolio

Tyler Technologies has acquired Computer Software Associates (CSA) and its approximately $8.2 million in annual revenue. CSA, its 60-some employees, and 200 installations in 10 states will be added to the Tyler roster of financial management systems solutions for schools and county governments.

The transaction follows on the heels of two other Tyler Technologies acquisitions--Windsor Management Group and UniFund--a pair of firms that provide financial and human capital management solutions for the K-12 education market.

In buying Billings, MT-based CSA, Tyler has acquired a company founded in 1982 that, among other things, resells Tyler's Infinite Visions school enterprise solution as well as its own proprietary tax and recording solutions for county governments.

The acquisition "immediately increases Tyler's presence in the Northwest, further unifies our Infinite Visions brand, and presents interesting new opportunities with local governments," said Brett Cate, president of Dallas-based Tyler Technologies Local Government Division. "CSA is a nearly 30-year-old company that is well known for deep and long-lasting client relationships built on innovation and integrity."

The acquisition will benefit both CSA customers and its employees, according to Jeff Melugin, vice president at CSA, in a news release statement.

"Our mission statement has always been that we are committed to providing customers with excellent service and leading edge software products. Tyler Technologies shares that same core value as witnessed by their high level of customer and employee retention," said Melugin. "Combining with Tyler will provide our employees with opportunities to showcase their individual talents and continue to provide a solid foundation for our customers."
