Mobile Device Manager Adds iOS6 Support

School technologists have a new option for managing devices running iOS6.

Lightspeed Systems has released an update to its mobile device management solution, Mobile Manager. The new version, designed for schools, is compatible with and "supports all new features of iOS6," according to a statement released today by Lightspeed.

Mobile Manager features hierarchical policy settings, application controls, remote wiping, and centralized inventory, reporting, updates, and installs. Updates that support iOS6 include:

  • Blocking access to Game Center;
  • Blocking access to Bookstore and Bookstore Erotica category;
  • Disabling photo stream;
  • Support for the new global proxy;
  • Single app mode.
