B&K Precision this month launched a new line of dual-channel arbitrary waveform generators capable of generating waveforms up to 50 MHz.

The 4050 series includes four new models built around 14-bit, 125 MSa/s, 16k point arbitrary waveform generators. Users can tap the built-in waveform generators or use the included software to create custom 16 kpt waveforms, up to 10 of which can be loaded onto the units via USB. Other features include:

  • 3.5-inch LCD screen;
  • 48 preset arbitrary waveforms;
  • Amplitude and frequency modulation;
  • Double sideband amplitude modulation;
  • Amplitude and frequency shift keying;
  • Phase modulation;
  • Pulse width modulation;
  • Linear and logarithmic sweep function;
  • Counter;
  • Sync output;
  • 10 MHz reference clock input;
  • Trigger I/O terminal.

In addition, according to B&K, "The main output voltage can be varied from 0 to 10 Vpp into 50 ohms (up to 20 Vpp into open circuit) and the secondary output can be varied from 0 to 3 Vpp into 50 ohms (up to 6 Vpp into open circuit)."

The four models include the 4052, which offers a sine and square frequency range of 1 µHz to 5 MHz and sells for $499; the 4053, which offers a sine and square frequency range of 1 µHz to 10 MHz and sells for $599; the 4054, which offers a sine and square frequency range of 1 µHz to 25 MHz and sells for $850; and the 4055, which offers a sine frequency range of 1 µHz to 50 MHz and a square frequency range of 1 µHz to 25 MHz and sells for $1,050.

The 4050 series arbitrary waveform generators are available now, with a 10 percent discount through Nov. 30. Additional details can be found at bkprecision.com.
