Exemplars Unveils Common Core Math Resources for Grades K-5

Exemplars has launched a new set of math resources, Problem Solving for the Common Core, designed to help teachers implementing the Common Core State Standards.

Designed for use in grades K-5, "the online materials are designed to assist elementary school math teachers in planning, teaching and assessing lessons that are aligned to the Common Core State Standards," according to a news release.

Features of Problem Solving for the Common Core include:

  • Problem-Solving tasks;
  • More than 500 open-ended math problems;
  • Materials for differentiated instruction;
  • Summative assessments with anchor papers and scoring rationales;
  • Preliminary planning sheets;
  • Assessment rubrics; and
  • Depth of knowledge support for levels three and four.

Additional materials for grades 6-8 are also planned.

"We are thrilled to be able to provide teachers and administrators with materials built specifically for the Common Core," said Exemplars CEO Ross Brewer, in a prepared statement. "We've created real-world math tasks to engage students and to ensure their success in school and beyond."
