Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Technology Awards program sponsored by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and ed tech company Vernier Software and Technology.

The awards are granted to science classrooms doing innovative work in the area of data collection, particularly using probes or sensors to connect with computers and other digital devices, including graphing calculators and tablets.

For this year’s program, seven awards will be granted:

  • One for an elementary classroom;

  • Two for middle school classrooms;

  • Three for high school classrooms; and

  • One for a post-secondary classroom.

The awards consist of a $1,000 cash prize, $3,000 in Vernier products and up to $1,000 to cover travel expenses to the annual NSTA National Conference on Science Education. “Awardees will be honored at the Awards Banquet during the NSTA conference,” according to Vernier.
