Science2Go Adds New Videos, Labs, Assessments

Flinn Scientific has updated its Science2Go digital learning solution designed for both remote and classroom learning for middle school and high school. The updates focus on biology, chemistry, environmental science and physics and include new labs, assessments and videos, as well as enhanced functionality for teachers.

“This past school year, Science2Go has provided a safe and engaging way to teach students across a range of science disciplines, regardless if they were in-person, remote, or hybrid,” said Mike Lavelle, CEO of Flinn Scientific, in a prepared statement. “Now, with these new Back-To-School updates, high school teachers will have even more ways — and resources available to them — to deliver targeted content and enriching labs that immerse students in science learning.”

Among the updates for the 2021–2022 school year are:

  • New options for multiple choice and drop-down questions, in addition to open-ended questions.

  • Pre- and post-assessments to gauge mastery.

  • Enhanced classroom registration and rostering capabilities.

  • New videos “focused around a particular phenomenon, such as global climate change and forest fires, to help them better understand real-world applications of science. Each video poses questions about the phenomenon upfront to help students explore the topic, and then ends with information to help students take what they’ve learned and apply it in the lab.”

  • 10 videos explaining common lab procedures used in Science2Go experiments.

  • A new “Connect to Your Lab” feature to help students begin to gather data.

  • Several new lab topics, including “meiosis and anatomy for biology, redox and radioactivity for chemistry, earthquakes and volcanoes for environmental science, and electricity and magnetism for physics, among others.”

Further details can be found on Flinn’s site.
