Startup Nolej AI Available on Google Classroom

Instructional design company Nolej announced that Nolej AI is now available on Google Classroom. The OpenAI-based commercial authoring tool allows educators to create instructional microlearning content in near real time, the French company said.

Nolej AI’s authoring tool allows educators to input static materials such as PDFs, audio, video files, and websites for the AI to create content such as lesson plans and other learning formats “50 times faster” than it takes with traditional course development, according to the company.

Nolej AI can create all-in-one e-learning content packages with interactives such as videos and popup texts and others. It also creates assessment tools such as MCQ, fill-in-the-blank, true/false, and open-ended questions.

According to the company website, what works best currently is English content, although other languages will be added in the coming months; declarative knowledge rather than “how to” content; and micro-learning packages that address core subject knowledge.

The company’s roadmap indicates Nolej Graph (“of human knowledge that’s ready to generate dynamic maps of all the concepts that lie between the learners’ current understanding and any learning destination”) and Nolej Protocol (matching “learners and experts with knowledge and resources”) will be launched in 2024.

Using OpenAI and other Large Language Models (LLMs), Nolej AI has been beta tested by over 25,000 educators. It is compatible with most LMSs, including Canvas, Brightspace, Schoology, Moodle, and Blackboard. It can be embedded anywhere, or exported and integrated with a client’s existing LMS, LXP or LRS and can be exported to SCORM, xAPI, and H5P or Google Classroom, according to the company.

The commercial version of NOLEJ AI is now live. A 10-day free trial with the ability to generate up to five packages is available. Educators can sign up for a monthly license with in-app support for $19.99, and schools can sign up for a yearly plan that fits their needs.
