Ready Classroom Mathematics Uses Discourse to Develop Mathematical Thinking

Curriculum Associates has released Ready Classroom Mathematics, a new hybrid print/digital curriculum for K–5 mathematics.

According to Curriculum Associates, the new standards-aligned curriculum offers recourses that work together to “support the teaching and learning process. The program uses multi-day lessons and instructional routines to help students understand important mathematical concepts, make connections between multiple mathematical strategies and deepen their conceptual understanding by leading the majority of the classroom discussion. There are also frequent opportunities for practice and assessment to ensure that students understand concepts and to help teachers make instructional decisions.”

“Having meaningful conversations about math concepts helps students better understand what they are learning and apply it to everyday problems,” said Rob Waldron, CEO of Curriculum Associates. “Ready Classroom Mathematics provides teachers with the tools to facilitate these important conversations, drive instruction, and engage all students in the learning process.”

Ready Classroom Mathematics includes:

  • Embedded professional learning resources, including professional learning support for ELL instruction;
  • Language differentiation strategies and ideas for “cultural responsiveness”;
  • Student Workbooks;
  • Teacher guides;
  • Discourse cards; and
  • Practice tests.
