Epson America Inc. has introduced the Epson Stylus Color 740i, a color ink jet printer designed to color coordinate with Apple's iMac and Power Macintosh G3 computers. It comes housed in a sleek, translucent case, similar to that of iMac and G3, and comes with a blueberry cover. Additionally, it can be outfitted with optional covers in grape, lime, tangerine or strawberry.

The printer features Epson's advanced Micro Piezo technology, a six-picoliter droplet size, 1440 x 720 dpi resolution and native Universal Serial Bus (USB) connectivity. The result is richer, deeper and more detailed images as well as laser-sharp black text at fast print speeds - six pages per minute (ppm) in black and five ppm in color. While ideal for iMac and G3 users with its built-in USB connectivity, the versatile Stylus Color 740i also offers Mac serial and parallel ports. With this capability, users have full support not only for the new colorful Apple models, but for legacy equipment they may own as well.

Also included with the printer is a full-featured software bundle, including Polaroid PhotoMAX Pro, ArcSoft PhotoPrinter and PhotoBase, as well as a one-year subscription to PhotoLoft.com, a photo sharing Web site. Additionally, users can choose two software programs from an impressive variety of categories, ranging from graphics and design (Kai's Power Soap and Print Shop Deluxe) to business utilities (Lotus Organizer and Print Shop PressWriter).
