Mitsubishi Intros 3D-Ready DLP Projector
At the InfoComm 2009 show in Orlando, FL, Mitsubishi this week introduced its first 3D-ready DLP projector, taking advantage of Texas Instruments' new DLP Link technology. Further information can be found here.
The forthcoming XD600U is a high-light-output ultraportable boasting a brightness of 4,500 lumens. It will also offer a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 and a resolution of 1,024 x 768 (XGA). With support for DLP Link, the new model will be able to project 3D imagery using a single projector without IR emitters or a special screen. Other features include:
- An RJ-45 port for remote operation and management via Mitsubishi's ProjectorView Global+ technology;
- A new Visual PA feature that allows admins to pump messages to projectors in real time, such as emergency notifications;
- Top-loading lamp design;
- HDMI, dual 15-pin RGB connectors, S-video, and composite video;
- A 10-watt speaker with two stereo minijacks and two RCA audio inputs;
- Various security features, such as password and anti-theft hook;
- Closed captioning support;
- Automatic picture adjustments;
- Automatic keystone correction;
- Instant off;
- Audio mixing capabilities; and
- An anticipated lamp life of 5,000 hours in economy mode.
Mitsubishi's XD600U is expected to be available in the third quarter. Pricing information was not released. Further details will be available here.
