The SL1000 from SAN Valley Systems provides a complete Fiber Channel-to-IP connectivity solution by tunneling Fiber Channel data across a Gigabit Ethernet network. The hardware-based encapsulation methodology enables cost-effective wire speed performance without creating the kinds of bottlenecks caused by similar software-based architectures. Its innovative flow control methodology minimizes jitter and latency for maximum data throughput. It also provides traffic congestion management capabilities by utilizing standards-based Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms over IP networks to provide cost-effective delivery and reliability for storage traffic.
